This is a post following on from my last, but I thought I would do it in a different format, because why not?! I do truly believe that with certain products, you get what you pay for.
However, as you will have gathered from the drugstore sister of this post, there are a lot of cheaper options that are just as good. Mascara, for example. I really like the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, but compared to some of my drugstore favourites, there is no need really to spend the extra money, but there are products that I really do think you get your bang for your buck.
Firstly, I want to talk about Laura Mercier. In particular her foundation primer. I have used for the past two years the Foundation Primer in Radiance, and I cannot fault it. It leaves my skin glowing from within and everything always sits a lot nicer. It is also available in oil-free, bronze, protect, normal and hydrating, none of which I have tried, but all I want too!
A recent addition to my makeup bag is the BECCA Backlight Priming Filter. Its very similar to the Laura Mercier one, just less gold and with less intense shimmer, but still very hydrating. I also really like BECCA for their highlighters, in particular Champagne Pop and Moonstone. If you like a seen from space highlight, then these are the way to go.
Nars. Well what don’t I like from Nars? I don’t think I have used one product from them that I don’t like, which is saying a lot. The Tinted Moisturiser is great, along with the Lip Pencils and the Sheer Glow Foundation. I love the blushes and also theit comes to eyes, the duos are fab, need I go on?
Urban Decay however always wins when it comes to eyes. The Naked Palettes are amazing, and I love every one of them all for different reasons, but I only own number one. I recently got bought the Naked Skin Concealer for my birthday and have been using it for the past few days, and I’m in love. Its so creamy and high coverage, and great for highlighting under the eyes.
Whenever I walk into Selfridges beauty hall, the Charlotte Tilbury counter always calls to me. All of their packaging to die for, and I am such a sucker for packaging, but its even better when the products are great too. The Filmstar Bronze and Glow is great for contour and a less subtle highlight, and another personal favourite is the Vintage Vamp Palette, as I love the gold glitter in it.
Lip-wise YSL is a stand out brand for me, purely because of the Rouge Volupte Lipsticks. Obviously, I can’t not mention MAC for lipsticks, as I own so many and have so many more I want. My most worn are Patisserie, Stone and Lady Danger.
Which high end brands do you love?
